Artificial intelligence cluster established in defense industry
The Defence Industry Artificial Intelligence Talent Cluster (SAYZEK) was established in order to carry forward the artificial intelligence-based studies needed in the defence sector by managing them in a centralized and integrated manner.
Organized by the Presidency of Defence Industries, the "SAYZEK Launch Ceremony and Workshop" was held in Ankara with the participation of Haluk Görgün, President of Defence Industries, and representatives from the Ministry of National Defence, Turkish Armed Forces, defence industry companies, research institutes and universities.
Speaking at the ceremony, President of Defence Industries Görgün said: "We see artificial intelligence as a value that shapes the future, transforms the present, transforms knowledge into power and data into vision. The Defence Industry Artificial Intelligence Talent Cluster, which we established in order to manage and direct the artificial intelligence-based studies needed in our defence industry in a central and integrated structure, will increase the interaction and awareness among stakeholders within the ecosystem, and will produce effective and efficient solutions with innovative studies in line with the needs of the sector. The synergy that will be created will rapidly increase the use of artificial intelligence technology in our defense industry products, and will elevate our sector to the position of an exemplary country in groundbreaking technologies that will prepare our sector for the future."
Productization process will be accelerated
SAYZEK, which was established to further advance the artificial intelligence-based studies needed in the defence industry by managing them in a centralized and integrated manner, aims to increase awareness of artificial intelligence capabilities and to produce effective and efficient solutions through innovative studies in line with the needs of the sector.
Within the scope of SAYZEK's activities, it is aimed to create a talent matrix, carry out collaborations for focus areas, bring civilian studies to the defence industry, accelerate the productization process, use resources efficiently with common infrastructures and focus laboratories, and bring talented students into the sector by raising awareness of artificial intelligence through awareness trainings.
