All eyes will be on the new week for the first flight of the national combat aircraft KAAN, which is described as Turkey's most ambitious technology project.


Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), KAAN is scheduled to take its place in the sky on December 27.


KAAN left the hangar and took to the runway on March 17. Over the past nine months, it was prepared by Turkish engineers to take to the skies. The tests it underwent for its first flight mission were successfully completed.


Will be able to reach 1.8 times the speed of sound


KAAN, which is indigenously designed and manufactured, has a wingspan of 14 meters, a height of 6 meters and a length of 21 meters. Its cockpit is for one person.


KAAN, which can reach a maximum speed of 55 thousand feet, will be able to fly 1.8 times faster than sound at 40 thousand feet. Its twin engines, high maneuverability, low visibility on radar, ability to carry in-body weapons and electronic warfare capability are among the notable features of KAAN.
